TIGER CUBS BASKETBALL CLINIC - TERM 1, 2018

The Malvern Tigers Basketball Club will be running pre-season training in school Term 1, 2018 for those families who would like to 'try out' basketball without the commitment of joining a team. This clinic is for new players aged from 6 to 9 years old.

Come along, join in the fun with other beginners and learn the basics of dribbling, shooting and working in a team. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to see whether basketball is a sport they would like to be more actively involved in.

Booking for the Term 1, 2018 sessions will commence during Term 4, 2017.

Sessions details are as follows:

  • Dates:   TBA (Early in term 1)
  • Times:   2:30 – 3:15 pm (girls) and 3:15 – 4:00 pm (boys) (To be confirmed)
  • Place:   Penpraze Park Recreational Centre (behind Malvern Primary School)
  • Cost:    $65 (incl. GST) per player, includes a Tigers basketball.

Bring: A water bottle.

Cubs Clinic FAQs

How often is the Cubs Clinic held?

Twice a year - once in Term 1, just prior to the winter season and again in Term 3, just prior to the summer season.

Can we join Malvern Tigers without attending a Cubs Clinic?

Certainly, however, the Clinic offers the chance to have a go at basketball before making the commitment to join a team. It also allows children to learn some basic ball-handling and team skills so they gain some self-confidence in a friendly environment. This gives them the best chance of being a happy basketballer in their first season.

What age children is the Cubs Clinic aimed at?

Most of our Cubs go on to play in the Under 8 or Under 10 age groups so normally children attending are aged from 6 to about 9 years old.

What do I need to wear and bring along?

All attendees are given a Malvern Tigers branded basketball so all you need to bring is a water bottle. Wear comfortable sports shoes and clothing suitable for doing lots of running.

Who supervises the Clinic?

Cubs Clinics are supervised by Malvern Tigers coaches.
